Making Colour Photos Manually (Photo) (NEU)

Recently I came across a gallery of colour images taken around the turn of the century in the Russian Empire. These were not photographs doctored later, or colour film. The photographer travelled across Russia with a special method of creating colour photographs. He would take three black-and-white ...

Happy Birthday Feila!

I still remember my first tentative steps into roleplaying here, and eventually learning from the myriad of mistakes that followed. :D

Re: The 654th Annual Interplanetary Vosian Race (OPEN)(NonCa

Motoring as a sport always entails risks. Every fercat aboard the automobile knew that. Sometimes sacrifice was necessary to keep a fellow Dook alive. The needs of the many outweighed the needs of the few... or the one. That is why Trainee Engineer Dook leap onto the grenade, his stubby paws clingin...

Re: The 654th Annual Interplanetary Vosian Race (OPEN)(NonCa

"Drivers..." The announcer's voice echoed over the speakers, "Start your engines!" Captain Dook beadily eyed the fruit bat, whose green eyes caught his attention. The fercat stared at the bat for a moment. Then the fercats began moving at once, as if they wanted to show the bat what he was up agains...

Re: The 654th Annual Interplanetary Vosian Race (OPEN)(NonCa

Dook. Dookdook. Dook. Dookdookdookdookdook! The Dooks dooked. All was going just as the Captain had foreseen. The plan to buy a spaceship to lease it to a bad debtor to get him sent to a debtor's prison-ship to convey a message to their shady contact inquiring about the sugar bowl that they needed t...

Names: Dook Genders: Males Species: Fercats Number: 22 Appearances: Fercats are brown, as this exception to the rule proves. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3294/2431105851_b0a698888b.jpg Otherwise, they are semi-anthropomorphic ferret/wildcat hybrids that are very short and wear colourful waistcoats...

Re: Up for Debate: Legality of Butterfly Knives

All I can say really is what I know works here. Self-defence is never a reason to carry a weapon in this state, and I'm fairly sure that goes for other Australian states too. The police do not accept it as a reason and it muddies the waters into whether the victim of an attack also was breaking the ...

Re: Up for Debate: Legality of Butterfly Knives

I'm not sure where 'here' is, I'll assume you are in the state of New York. I found this in Article 265, Section 265.01 Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree. A person is guilty of criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree when... 2) He possesses any dagger, dangerous knife...

Re: Up for Debate: Legality of Butterfly Knives

This is taken from Schedule 1 of the Weapons Prohibition Act 1998, taken from the Australasian Legal Information Institute, with some help from the NSW Police website. This act is law in my state, New South Wales. The butterfly knife is a prohibited weapon as described; Clause 1(6) A butterfly knife...

New Global Moderators

Forthwith, henceforth the heretofore most lauded and exemplary members of our electrotelegraphic communion, Rackenhammer (Pretender to the Spanish Throne, Roleplayer of the Gawainian Throne, resident debater) and Kitsunegami (Alleged diety, allegedly taking over the world, allegedly succeeding) are ...

Re: Broken ties, New friends (private)

"No, don't..." Randall winced as the otter collapsed again. He cused himself inwardly for making Yanaz rush. Typical Randall, could not stay in one place for more than a minute. The squirrel's tail brushed outwards and he frowned in concentration. They were only one short walk down the road from his...

Re: Broken ties, New friends (private)

"Hey there," Randall smiled weakly in relief. If someone was in such a bad state as to need CPR, chances of survival were not too optimistic. Yet the otter was conscious and speaking. He was going to be all right! He even had the strength to reach up and touch the squirrel's cheek. Randall did not t...

Re: Broken ties, New friends (private)

Randall's heart was thumping against his chest. Sweat poured down his red-furred face as the squirrel jogged around the corner. He had been on his evening run whenever work and university and life had not caught up to him. He had feared at first that his life in tertiary study might swamp him down, ...

Re: Darker sides to religion? Oo

By all means, make a wish and have fun with it. Ouch. I was thinking about bowing out of this discussion anyway since no amount of arguing ever changed anyone's mind, but that sealed it. Forget the point I was going to make...some nonsense about religion and science not having to be mutual enemies,...
