Kunesoki Soun (Medieval)

Post by Eddy » Sun Apr 24, 2016 5:21 pm

Name: Kunesoki Soun (family name first, given name second)

Gender: Male

Species: Clouded Leopard

Age: 21

Place of Birth: Hojo, a small village in the foothills of the Black mountains in north-east Yamaha

Family: Father, mother, younger brother, younger sister.

Job: Samurai

Skills: Trained from a young age in weapons use and martial arts. Soun has also received a suitable education, he is literate in Yamahan, and is trained in the etiquette and culture of the Samurai class.

Physical description: Soun isn't tall, standing at about 5'5”. His build is what might be described as 'sturdy', he is strong and athletic due to his many years of physical training. His dark hair is long, but he usually has it worn in a traditional warrior's topknot. Although not ugly, he wouldn't be regarded as particularly attractive.
His fur is fairly standard for his species: pale earth brown covered in large dark 'splotches' and spots. His eyes are grey-green in colour.

Personality: Although quite reserved, Soun is direct and mannered. Very conscious of his place in Yamahan society, he will show due respect to his equals and betters, but will keep aloof of those below him.
His motives are governed by a very strong sense of honour and loyalty. He would give his life for his Lord and his honour without hesitation.

History:
Raised in a minor Samurai family, Soun was trained from an extremely young age in the ways of the warrior. Unlike many of his peers, Soun was always somewhat introverted, often favouring his own company. This didn't stop him enthusiastically accepting his duty as a Samurai, and at the appropriate age he began his training and education.
Never a gifted pupil, especially in his martial training, he slowly worked through his lessons, impressing his teachers with his determination if not his natural skills. At the age of sixteen, he passed his trial of manhood and gave his oath as Samurai to his Lord, Minato Okai.
Having served for several years, he honed his skills fighting bandits from the Black Mountain passes, but yearns to make his name known upon the battlefield.
At nineteen, Soun returned from a mountain patrol to find his home village in chaos, his home merely a pile of glowing charcoal and embers. Forcing aside his sorrow, Soun questioned the panicked villagers, he established that some strangers had approached his father, demanding permission to set up an inn and brothel in the village. Not giving it a moment's thought, his father had the strangers ran out of town, despite their threats of vengeance. A week later, the house had been burnt to the ground at night, killing Soun's father, mother and brother. Further investigations convinced him that the perpetrators were Yakuza, pushing out into the mountain areas in seek of profit.
After putting the spirits of his family to rest, Soun swore an oath of vengeance upon the Yakuza, swearing to wipe out their corruption. This done, he returned to serve his Lord, and the Emperor who it is said, hated the Yakuza as much as he...

This is still a semi-wip so may be tweaked a bit as I play the character. Any comments or questions are welcome! - Eddy
