Hey, mind if I drop a line here? Thanks. I have been here for a few weeks now, and the members I have met are a welcome change from what I usually find in forum-based roleplay. They are articulate, creative thinkers who are willing to work with my character instead of writing a parallel story. I think the "5-sentence" rule and the spell-check requirements help foster this atmosphere of doing things right.

Thanks to everyone who made my welcome warm! Hopefully this is a place I can hang around for a long while to come.

The staff seem nice enough, but they don't seem to have to "exercise their power" very much. i have never seen a banned user on the site, which makes me think maybe the staff is too nice,or maybe they just haven't been 'tested' yet with a wave of trolls.

since my last post it's gotten depressing.... hostile... impersonal...

[what about me? im not hostile!]

I think that the most annoying thing is the ones who join rps and then drop or stop posting in it.

I love it here. The thing I do not like is when people use over-powered skills that take all of the realism from the story.

Interesting you should bring that up;

I've noticed that some new users are having a little trouble adapting to a free-form environment, especially in how to resolve fights, and when you throw magic into the business the whole thing becomes doubly difficult.

Do you think it would be a good idea if I wrote up some guidelines based on my experience on these boards?

Yes, but there are some things I don't think it covers adequately. Also, I'm not sure how many take advantage of it as it is; maybe I should start linking to it in my welcome posts and signature?

Didn't Rabid used to do that?

I think it might be handy. I'm probably just weird because I tend to look at every info page I can before I register...

i actually like this community ive never found a place where such varying aspects of roleplaying happen at once. i extensively like the twilight zone and the dimensional break specifically. all of my post are there besides the new post part

I am quite new to the forum, but so far, its been a good experience. Everyone I've encountered has been polite and helpful, and I'm even in a roleplay thread already (the Edwin Meet'N'Greet).
"I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."
