Evolve Beta

Post by Styx » Sun Jan 18, 2015 3:20 am

I just started playing the Evolve Open Beta on Xbox One. Anyone else played it yet? I think it has some potential, even so the classes are kind of cliche. But using CryEngine does make it look pretty, especially compared to their last game, Left 4 Dead.

Anyone have any thoughts about it?

Oh wow, those graphics really pop. I've never seen anything like them. They are very smooth and quite shiny even.

Yeah, totally agree! They build it on CryEngine 4. IMO, I'd like to see more companies continue towards the photorealism realm.

At this rate, games will start being confused for actual movies! I saw another game recently that had the most realistic face. I thought that it was a photograph at first! I saw it in a Game Informer magazine, I think. I have a subscription to Game Informer because I have a PowerUp Rewards Pro membership at GameStop. It makes me wonder if we are nearing the end of graphical advancement, as far as models of people go anyway. For some reason, it always seems like terrain and scenery can use more improvement.
