The stoat assassin laughed; now things were getting interesting. At they same time though the situation was starting to get dangerous. The ermine figured he ought to at least try to stop what was about to transpire. He had started this after all. Mischief always had a downside. "Hold on, we don't need to be doing this," he said in a deceptively cheerful voice as he stepped between the odd hybrid and the other ninja. "Why don't we just stop and try to figure this out." He then took a short step toward the rabbit, his voice taking on a much sharper tone. "I'm serious, stop what ever it is you're about to do, I don't think trifling with this mage and his companions is very wise."

For a few seconds, the rabbit thought on what to do. Finaly, he decided to try some dialogue before the fight. Then, he quietly stepped on the sack, cutting the effect.

- Now, I do think we may talk, for now. First, who are you?

The rabbit turned to the other furries:

- And who of you is the furry who's looking for Futotta Ja-ku?

Ryou looked at him in alarm. Katsuo was confused as to how this fur would know that Ryou was looking for Ja-ku. Ryou stepped forward, his paw not even near his bokken, though able to draw it before either fur could do anything. "How did you know that I was looking for Ja-ku? Were you sent by him?"

The rabbit got upset, but he finally understood this wasn't time for fightings.

- You offend me by saying this... I am Koji Mishima, and I offer you my services.

Ryou looked at him and thought. The ferret knew very very little about the world of darkness and stealth, and apparently there was one much more knowledgable in this field them him, offering to aid the ferret in killing his enemy. On the other paw, Ryou had no idea if this Koji could be trusted. The ronin looked at the rabbit then nodded, "Very well then. And sorry that I offended you."

Suddenty, Koji took a kunai and pointed it to the other spy, or assassin, or ninja, whatever:

Koji - As you probably noticed, I don't like to be surprised. Tell me your name!

Victor quickly noticed that this turn of events wasn't harmfull. Though the sudden draw of a kunai by the rabbit on the other assasin almost made him think twice. Victor desided to stay out of this and went to sit back down agains the tree he was previously on. One half of the branch that he had sliced was proped against it, the branch was now a half moon. He picked it up and examined it, the cut was very clean and had charred the surface. Victor smiled to himself and tossed it into the fire then sat against the tree then pulled out his deck of playing cards and began to shuffle them.

The mustelid scoffed at Koji as the rabbit drew a weapon on him, though he made no motion to do the same. "Hmph, what terrible manners," he muttered, even though he'd started the whole confrontation, "Even so, my name is Nakano Arata and I was simply passing through the area." The stoat shrugged and took a step back from Koji, the weapon beginning to make him a bit uncomfortable. He then inclined his masked head toward Ryou. "I can hardly say messing with the yakuza is a wise thing to do," Arata said. "What could prompt you to do that? And all of you to help?" he asked both Ryou and the rest present in the camp.

Meanwhile, in Sendai at the Chikakuji Temple...

"I'm glad you've returned Futtota-san," Rin's smile could have sent a sea monster scurrying. "I thought you might have left us for good."

The rat, unable to speak due to his mouth and face being a mashed mess and the sobs wracking his body, gurgled inarticulately. Futtota Ja-ku was bound from head to tail and currently bleeding on the floor of one of the lesser used meeting rooms in the Main Hall of the temple. A bundle that was also bleeding lay next to him containing the heads of the creatures the rodent had spirited away in his escape attempt.

Ikeda Rin, the hybrid yakuza boss, was lounging across from the pitiful creature on a set of pillows, hat obscuring her eyes, but not the terrible grin on her face. "Tsk. Tsk. Futtota-san, I'm surprised you would try to leave without telling me. You wound me!" Far from seeming downhearted at the news, the femme appeared delighted. "I would have been happy to allow you a walk in the forest if that's what you wanted. I was only keeping you here because I worry about your safety with that mad ronin, Monaitto-san about. He could kill you at any moment! You're much safer with us here."

Another noise from the rat, though whether it was a response to this or a general cry of pain was unclear. Pursing her lips together, Rin sat up, rose and walked slowly toward her helpless subordinate. "Futtota-san, did Usagi-teichou and Midori-teichou's men treat you badly? You seem a bit bent out of shape." She knelt down inches from Ja-ku's face and poked him roughly in the cheek eliciting a fresh howl as she giggled. Turning her attention away from the writhing rat, she looked at the bloody bag and opened it, reaching in and pulling out a female lion's head.

"Hmm...I would have expected better from Ai-san," the yakuza boss commented, absentmindedly tossing the head over her shoulder where it thudded to the ground and rolled away under a nearby table. "Haru-san, too?" she queried, holding up a male mouse's head this time. "Tsk. You really just can't trust creatures these days." It joined the Ai's head under the table. Next was a black dog's head that was frozen in a look of pure terror. "Ah, here is one I would suspect," Rin shook her head sadly and threw the head away. "Kenta-san did not suit his name."

Before the hybrid could continue with her gruesome fun that was obviously upsetting Ja-ku who was dry heaving as he looked at the heads and blood-soaked femme's paws, there was a knock on the door and Sanjuro entered along with Hideki. "Haaaiii...?" Rin drawled politely.

"Er, Ikeda-sama," Hideki, a snow leopard built like a wrestler, began, trying to hold down the bile in his throat, while simultaneously replace the revulsion on his face with calm, "we have new information on Monaitto-san's movements."

"Really?" she was reaching into the bag again, but Sanjuro, a lithe mutt, grabbed her arm and shook his head firmly.

"Stop teasing him, Ikeda-sama, and let the medics treat him," the dog advised with a disgusted nod in the rat's direction. "He has several broken bones and the only way Monaitto-san will return is if he knows Futotta-san is here. In this condition, no one will recognize him!"

"I suppose you're right as usual, Juro-san," Rin pouted, then turned to the leopard with a smile. "Why don't we go into another room, Hideki-san and you can tell me all about Monaitto-san!"

"Hai," the feline agreed quickly, grasping any excuse to leave the room that was making him feel decidedly sick. They walked off and Sanjuro stayed behind to clean up the mess with a sigh.

"Well, Futotta-san, let's get you to one of the medics," the mutt muttered, bending down to grab the rat. "Hmm...what's that?"

"H-Hanshi-san* is...a f...fre...ak..." Ja-ku managed.

Sanjuro stared at the rodent for several seconds, rose and kicked him violently in the stomach. Ja-ku vomited blood and the dog stepped over him without a word, stalking to the exit and turning to look back at the desperate creature choking on his own fluids. "If you can talk, I suppose you can last another hour or so without treatment, Futtota-san. Goodbye." The canine slammed the door shut and walked away. Certainly, the rat might die, but that would also solve a heck of a lot of problems.

*Hanshi-san is a nickname for Rin that means "Ms. Half Tail"; no one uses it around her

Back at the camp

- What could prompt you to do that? And all of you to help?

After listening this, Koji reminded what happened... The fire, the blood, all those people crying for help... and the silhouette of a rat. For a moment, he lost his sense of "there are people here who can kill me in a second". Then, he finally retained his kunai back.

- I think it's not of your business. - Said the rabbit.

Victor had just one a game of solitare, he loved that game. Over hearing the conversation, he assumed that he was in the wrong place. There is most deffinetly revenge here. He thought, Victor wanted to learn more, by listening he just might. So, he reshuffled the cards and started again.

Ryou looked at the mustelid and suddenly shrugged, "Well, he inquired, so seeing as how everyone wants to know, I'll let you know." And so he invited them all to sit around the fire as they ate a frugal but fulfilling meal. He explained his hatred for the fur Ja-ku, and what had happened to him when he was young. Afterwards, he explained his time in Sendai and his battle against the crazed Yakuza boss, Ikeda Rin. And then he explained that Ja-ku had gotten away, and was now looking for him. By the time the ronin had reached the end of his tale, it was night time. "And so, there you have it. Now you see why I need your help if you could spare it. As much as I would find it thrilling to try, I can't take on the entire Yakuza in hopes of getting to Ja-ku."

This tail was grim, in his nature he needed to help. Besides, perhaps some information he wanted could be found here. " Call me in Sir. I'll aid you."

After Ryou had finished his story, Arata grinned, or at least appeared to anyways. His mask made expressions a rather moot point. "Ah, a Monaitto, that explains a lot," the stoat said with a hint of mirth in his voice, "Annoying the Yakuza of Sendai seems to be in your blood." He paused and seemed to think through something before continuing. "Nevertheless it seems this is more of my business than you think," he said, looking pointedly at Koji. He then brought his attention back to Ryou. "You see my father was one of the, hm, dissident townspeople in Sendai back when the Yakuza so swiftly solved the thread of a revolt. He managed to escape death by fleeing from that town like a coward....So I'll help you, not only because there's family honor at stake but because I think those egotistic crime lords need some challenging now and again."

Koji - Hmpf. All those pointless pursuit for honor...

Koji noticed he caught the other furries attention. Darn it. Even being a ninja, he still had not much mouth-control skill. But, he understood clearly the reaction from the other furries.

Koji - I think I owe you an explanation - he said, looking for the ground. - Years ago, before I entered the Ninnpou order, I used to live in a small village in the route between Yuriku and Nemiaru. It was pretty peaceful until the Yakusas arrived. They decided it was time for tha village to pay tribute in trade of... protection. Many brave furries denied the proposal, and faced the consequences of their bravure. - The rabbit sighted - My older brother Usagi was one of then. He leadered a group of villagers and resisted as much as they could, but then a small yakuza army came during the late night, and razed the village. - Koji closed his eyes. - Usagi hid me with debris and attacked the leader of the army. A rat.

Koji felt a tear coming, but quickly retained it. - A group of ninjas from an order known as the "Rising Sun Troops" arrived at the village on the next day and found me there. They took care of me as one of their own, training me at the art of silence. Now, I got permission from then to seek and destroy those who filled their hands with blood of my people.
