Quite The Predicament (Drive By Shooting Age)

Some one-thousand years into the future, Feila is now ruled by pop-crazy teenagers, computer nerds, and gun-wielding gangsters. This period is most like our present day Earth, specifically the 2000's, with the Internet, MP3 players, and towering skyscrapers. All natives are furry (Skin Avian are present here too). No native humans.

Dima shook her head. "I'm sorry, but I can't trust you completely after the...day?..days?...I've just had." She kept the gun trained on the fox. "I'll give you the chance to gain some trust though if that's what you want. Keep your hands where I can see them, and come over. You can see what you can do for her, but keep in mind that I'll be watching you." She ignored Baek at this point, it was pretty obvious that in the end his own hide was the most important thing to him. She Kept the gun trained on the fox, watching him closely as he approached. She knew it was a risk, but Kate needed all the help she could get. Dima just hoped that Milo was telling the truth.

Baek closed his free paw into a fist, beginning to doubt that the services were even coming. He was not a patient soul.
the wolf's luck was being tossed round it seemed as the first to arrive were the police. Could he really just leave self-righteous Dima to deal with this?
Of course not. But this was going to cost him. He frowned to himself and looked downward in thought as a heavy-looking rhino and a contrasting slim horse stepped out of the car in their high-vis uniforms. The horse approached Dima and opened his hoof for possession of the gun as the Rhino approached Kate. Looking between them both, he would seem to be slightly more drawn to Baek, who hadn't made any eye-contact with him yet. The rhino would ignore him for now and move on to Kate, kneeling down at her side. "My name is Duffy. What's yours?" He wasn't making idle conversation, merely testing to see how functional her brain could be at this point in time. She didn't look all that good even at a glance.

Shortly after, the Ambulance would come to a steady hault as two otters stepped out of the back.

Kate didn't bother making eye contact with the officer, she was basically unconscious by this point, barely able to mutter an unintelligible half-response. Her shivering would begin to slow down as she officially lost consciousness, her head slumping to the side.

Milo was being taken into custody with the others as more police arrived on the scene. He called back to the two, "I'll meet you at the hospital!" he called out before being stuffed into a squad car by a rather annoyed looking cat. He didn't try to resist, but his conversation to explain to them that he was an undercover agent didn't exactly bode well for him.

The two otters would strip her away from Baek and get her into the ambulance, calling out to each other, covering her with a blanket and getting her on a blood line as quickly as possible before rushing her to the hospital in whatever city they were located at the moment.

((sorry for the long wait on my reply....the last week has been rather busy, and next week will probably be similar))

Dima looked at the horse for a hesitant moment before she handed over the pistol with a heavy sigh. She was relieved when the ambulance finally showed up, and the EMT's took over care for Kate. "well that much at least will hopefully go well" She muttered quietly to herself. She was actually surprised that Baek hadn't taken the first opportunity to run. She waved to Milo, the fact that he was being stuffed into a squad car didn't exactly foreshadow good things to come. "If we even get to go to the hospital." She replied, unsure just what was going to happen to her or Baek.

She stood where she was, watching everything that was going on around her, and waiting for instructions. She wanted to leave, but figured it probably wouldn't be a good idea until the police had given her the go ahead to do so.

Baek looked up to the fur in front of him who had tended to Kate. He was helped to a stand as he received a harsh stare. He couldn't look at the male in front of him, knowing what was coming. The officer looked at his face and then to the sword, back up at Baek again. "Hey... Wait a minute..." The rhino boomed. "You're that mongrel who's been running around thinking he's a bloody superhero!" His voice raised and his grip tightened. "Kid, how old are you!?" His vocals were stern and condescending, almost mocking the young wolf.

Baek snapped back. "None of your damn business, let me go!" He tugged at his hand, but to no avail. "I said let go!" He looked to Dima at that last moment, almost as if for help, but then turned it into a light, betrayed scowl, remembering she was on their side.
The brute tugged back and pulled him towards the rear door of the second police car. "Kid, struggling's just gonna make this worse for yah."
After shoving the resistant wolf into the car and stripping him of his blade, he sighed and turned to the horse with a sigh. "This kid's in so much trouble... I mean look at this..." He raised the blade, showing off its slight bluish glow.

After several minutes, Milo was released from the vehicle he was being held in and uncuffed, an apologetic nod from the cat. Rubbing his wrists, he crosses over as the rhino was stuffing Baek into the squad car, "Hey, I'll take him." he said with a mote of authority.

The rhino raised a brow to him as if he were questioning why on earth he would do that until Milo reintroduced himself to him, "My name is Detective Somberdon with the Feilan Bureau of Investigation. The kid's coming down with me, he's a victim in a federal case." The conversation took after for several minutes before the rhino opened the door, uncuffing Baek as Milo took his arm gently, walking him along, "Don't worry, I'll try to explain everything on the way to the office. And we'll get your knife back in a bit, I promise."

He managed to wrestle Dima from a couple other officers who were starting to question her, "Sorry, boys, she's under federal protection, now." he looked at her and cocked his head, "C'mon, we're heading back to the bureau. I'm sure your friend is going to be fine, but if I don't get you two out of here before the other FBI agents arrive, you'll be stuck here way longer than I'm sure either of you want to be." he continued to escort Baek across the street to a dark grey sedan parked in another lot, hoping Dima would be following.

Dima had watched as Baek was stuffed into one of the nearby squad cars. She had moved over, and was leaning against it, not completely feigning fatigue. She had been about to open the door when a pair of officers came over and started to badger her with questions. She sighed in relief when Milo chased them off, though she sighed when he mentioned taking Baek and with him.

She followed behind Milo as he led the way to his vehicle. She let Baek have the front seat, and climbed into the back and stretched herself out across the rear bench seat as much as she could. She was tired, the adrenaline was gone, leaving fatigue and drowsiness in its wake. She sat with half closed eyes, and kept her ears on any conversation.

Baek hesitantly slipped into the passenger seat at the front. He looked to Milo with an expression stating both wariness and trust. "So... What happens now...?" The wolf questioned sternly. If the police knew who he was now, then his job would be made just that much harder. Damn.
"You're not gonna just throw me in the cells, are you? That's not gonna end well for anyone." He sighed and looked out through the window, his golden hues stunted and distant. As he breathed, they would shift to their deep, depressed blue colour once more.

Milo rubbed the back of his head as he started up the car, a police cruiser following them as he pulled out. "Damn," he said, "You hit me pretty good, you know that?" he said to Dima with a soft chuckle. He glanced to Baek as he asked his question and shook his head, "No one's going in a cell, don't worry." He started down the road and picked up pace, the engine revving up audibly.

He looked in his rear-view mirror at the escorting police car and furrowed his brow, "I need you two to listen very carefully and do everything that I say..." he said sternly.

Dima's shoulders shifted slightly up, then down in a barely perceptible shrug. "Sorry bout that, thought you were one of them." She was tired, and her arctic accent was starting to come through in her speech. "Be happy I got you before you could have done anything that seemed threatening....would have had more than a headache to worry about." She had a slightly morbid way of looking at the bright side of a situation, but the situation they had just gone through could be blamed for that.

Milo then told them that they needed to do exactly as he said, and that was never a thing Dima wanted to hear. "If you could just drop me off at the airport, I'll get out of the country." She suggested.

Baek huffed and turned back to Milo. "So, what exactly are you telling us to do?" His tone expressed the stress he was placing on himself, heating him further and further. "I mean, I don't even know you. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad you got me out of there, but really..." The wolf rested his head back on the seat and closed his eyes, sinking into the material a little as he released every clenched muscle in his body. "uhhhhhh... Damn..." He groaned inwardly to himself.

Milo looked back slightly at the police car, "Damn, he needs to back off.." he muttered and returned his attention to the two, "It's just an extremely precarious situation that you two are in right now. Especially Kaitlyn." the name rolled off of his tongue rather familiarly. He stopped at a stop light, turning around to look at Dima and looks over to Baek, "How are you two holding up?" he asked plainly, making sure the they weren't too shaken up after the night they've been having.
