Temple of the Insects

Post by JoshyBoar » Fri Nov 13, 2009 7:54 pm

Eight hooded figures stood at the temple's entrance. A single bee stood in front of them.

"Please Father! Stop this!" the bee beckoned. One of the hooded figures then took a step forward, "To think you were to be my successor, and then you go to interfere with this sacred ritual. You're no son of mine!" The bee then interrupted, "What your doing is wrong! I won't let you go through with this..." he then muttered.

The bee soon felt a stinging pain in the back of his head, someone had hit him. With his vision fading as he grew unconscious, he saw the figures walking to him...then blackness.

The bee soon awoke to see him in a large cell filled with others. when he rose to his feet, he saw that the rest of the prisoners seemed to be avoiding him. He soon noticed he was the only insect present, which would make sense considering...

The bee walked to the broken and filthy mirror to see if he still had his equipment, his weapons had been taken, but he had not had anything else stolen. His large Puff of white fur on his neck was still as fuzzy as it was before. His greaves were unharmed, which was a good thing. He wore no chest piece, but he wore sleeves to keep his arms warm.

His antennae soon twitched, he turned around swiftly.

Said Nekoni emerging from the shadows of a corner near to the new cellmate.
The Bee seem a little reluctant to talk, and still a bit in pain, so the cat continue with his speach.

- Dont worry, i coudnt do you much harm in this conditions - Said showing the chains arround his wrists and neck.

- Im Nekoni... im a drifter so... I woudnt know what reference to tell you to where im from, but i can tell you that I can help you out of this predicament if you help me... dont worry I wont hold your tounge - Finish the young cat with a smile in his face.

The bee giggled at the joke Nekoni seemed to make. "Yeah i should be able to get you out of those things" He said as he looked closer in on the shackles binding his wrists. He then let out a small sigh and stuck his right antennae inside the keyhole. within a few seconds, it came undone. "Okay, now the collar" he said as he began doing the same for his collar. Once it was open he spoke "You must haven tough for them to catch if they bound you in chains like that".

Soon, a guard came to the cell's door. He was a Mosquito covered in armor, holding a spear. He opened the door slightly, and entered. "So Brother, have you decided to end this foolishness and join our cause?" he asked. The guards must have changed shifts, for he didnt notice Nekoni was now free.

And didnt notice as Nekoni quickly moved to the front of the cell trough the corner. As the young feline was gently movings his paws to the door, another cell mate notice the free one and started to yell at the guard.

- Guard, Guard!! this one is escaping!! Get him now!!! -

Giving him a fierce look in his eyes, the cat turn arround and face the Mosquito, but it was little of a challenge for an armored guard, so quickly he sneack behind him and started to choke him with the chains. The insects might have great strenght but the lack rough muscles that the mammals have. Still strugling to get free, the guard back to one of the walls in the cell, crushing Nekoni´s body against it.

- AAArggg... Damn it... I wont lets go you parasite!! - Said the cat with fury in his voice, as he pirce into his neck with his claws.

Green blood sprayed from the wound that Nekoni inflicted, while the Mosquito just urgled. He slowly fell to the ground, still twitching. "That was amazing!" the bee said as he walked out of the cell quickly to retrieve his weapons from the chest in the corner of the small room. "Ah there we are!" he said as he rose, holding twin daggers. Some of the prisoners started to evacuate, while some were still in shock. the bee walked back to Nekoni, "well, that explains why they put you in chains in the 1st place". "we should probably get out of here before they come back"

- Cant say I enjoy the accomodations so... yeah... lets get out -

The pair started to run inside the tempel, as the Bee guided the way.
It was a labyrinth inside of that place, so Nekoni kept looking everywhere for an exit, an entrance or anything remotely like a door or a window.

- Damn... this place is huge... I hope you know your way out cause im completly lost in this hive - With a suden stop of the Bee the cat nearly hit him as he nail his claws to the floor.

- Hey what was that!? - Begun to complain the cat but the Bee turn arround and look at a room at the side of the passageway, and pointed at the Bee inside.

- Im sorry but I do not understand what you mean - Reply Nekoni confused.

"My sense of direction isn't that great, but the exit should be in that direction" the bee said. He looked down in a bit of thought "there's something i need to do here, so I'm going to stay behind" he said in a low voice. "I have to stop Father, even if i escape now, he'll just do it again..." that was the only thing he could think to himself. After giving Nekoni the direction to the nearest exit, the bee walked away, looking around for a sign. "His room should be around here somewhere..." he thought.

- Wait a moment - Said the cat grabing the Bee.
- You might not know it but drifters have honor too... you helped me escape so the least i can do is return the favor. As long is not battling the hole army in this place il see that your quest comes to an end - Told him with a smile.

- Now... before we... stop... your father... what is it that he does with hes prisoners? A couple of thought jump into mind but... one is too sceary... and the other to kinky to mention - Continue the cat with an even bigger smile in his face

- Please tell me what is it that im getting dragged into, I have the bad habit of jumping before asking questions and, really dont want to cut the rongh throat inside this immposible odds -

The bee was releived, he wouldn't be alone. He laughed at the Nekoni's smile but looked away for a brief moment. "He believes...That by sacrificing Non-Insects, that he will become a god." The bee then looked back at Nekoni, "He started kidnapping travelers, and plans to mass-sacrifice them".

The bee saw a blue emblem that looked somewhat like a Centipede. he stopped walking, "We need to get out of this area...as soon as possible" he said, panic could be heard in his voice. He knew who resided in this part of the temple...and the experiments he would preform on prisoners.

The bee grabbed Nekoni's hand and started running to the opposite side, he then soon turned into another hallway, still running

Blushing from the surprise, the young cat let the Bee guide the way for the moment, but he came to his sences as soon as they gain speed. The corridor was long and it darked as they went into, what it seem a passageway between the dungon and the normal chambers. The light began to fade and the cat could no longer seem to rely on his sences, so he grab the Bee back and stop him in his track, and as the darkness almost took his sight, he found a small crack where he guided the Bee so he could focused.

- Wait, I know you can see fine inside this chambers, but im starting to have difficult just by walking along side you... could you tell me whats the plan? and what was that... monster that shine in the blue light? was it a friend of yours? or someone that would rat us out of this scaped? Sorry... just give me a second to adjust to the light... I think il be ok as long as you dont go to far away. Il rely on my other sences until we can get to a place where I can be of some use -

"We can't be in the blue area.." the bee said as he caught his breath. "He takes prisoners and mutilates them, then turns them into his slaves.." his antennae twitched. moaning could now be heard. the bee turned around and saw two figures. the 1st seemed to be a wolf that was missing an arm, yet had insect wings on his back. The other was another wolf that was wearing some kind of mask, he also had pincers instead of hands.

- O dear go... - started to said the cat as he recive a look from the Bee that made his paws cover his mouth. He stare at the figures as they started to walk along the hallway. It seem that they also where not acostume to the light, but small antenas were hanging from their legs, so they were able to know their surroundings by consantly feeling the gruond with them. They twitch and spam their muscles as they walk, alsmost like the living dead. Their eyes where out of focused and revolting the obsure scenario looking and sniffing, and as close to the pair they came, the more nervous and anxient did they feel. As the "wolfs" came close to their location one of them started to sniff in their direction.

- I dont want to alarm you but... eaither you carry us both out flying or be prepared to get into the fryer - Wishper the cat to the Bee, bending his knees and getting ready to jump.

"I'm not too strong, so i can't carry you for too long" the bee said as he slowly hovered. Once Nekoni jumped, the bee caught him and started flying in the opposite direction of the creatures. he started off slow, but soon built up momentum. The only down side to this was that he would tire out soon, and he wasn't looking at where he was going. After what seemed like several of flying, teh bee slowly descended to the floor. he was panting vigorously, " I think....I think we're safe" he managed to say. The lights in this room were a dim red. there were only 3 corridors to go down now.

- FEEWWWW - Whimper Nekoni as a long breath of relief went out of his chest.
- Seems that the Gods have finally set a smile in my path - Said as he look arround to the corridors.

- Well... we cant get the way we came, and that scaped will be sensed preety soon so lets make our way into the royal chambers, or... wherever the kings would be hiding. The quickest we leave this place the better -

He extended his arm and help the Bee off thew floor. Looking into the corridors, their seem no signs or ways to follow, and as deep as they were, no wind would come out of the tunels, so Nekoni close his eyes and rely on the only sence he had left in the situation: hes vibrant ears.

After a wile of lisening and tuning closly to the tree corridors, he felt steps coming to their location, so he pressure his ears a little more four the slightly sound to confirm safety in any direction. The sound of the steps started to increase as he finally weard plates drop in a table and liquid pour into a cup. It was probably a kitchen or a dining room, and as the circunstances dictate, safe enough.

- Come on... we have to leave fast! - Whisper again to the Bee as he grab him from the hand and drag him into the darkness.

the bee followed Nekoni closely, "are you sure you know where your going?". he knew that this temple was like a small city for these insects, the way they were going they were probably going to hit the plaza. the only ones that went there were a handful of nobles, who were cowards at heart. "If you see a fountain of water, we should be safe in that area" he said as he walked at Nekoni's pace.
