Skirmish in the woods [With Jerry]

Post by Miko »

Making his way back from Rennes to Lourdes, Miko was walking through a heavy forest of south-east Brittany. The light was dim, with a few rays piercing through the foliage, but sufficient for him to see clearly the path. A semester has already passed since the accident with is sister, but he still had no clue about what exactly happened, neither how he would bring her back. While walking, he was reading a book he stole in Rennes' ducal library that seemed to theorize time travels, although for the moment it was only theological garbage. Suddenly, a crack from a branch echoed in the woods. Miko put the book in his bag and looked around him. "Who is there? Show yourself!" he ordered, with an imperative tone. A few seconds later, a boar showed up and ran away, leaving the forest quiet again. "Still... there're auras from some people around here... three people..." he thought, vigilant to any sound or movement behind the trees.

(A little music ~~)

Miko made an about-turn and raised a ward in front of him, blocking a ray of light aimed at his back. He counter-attacked with a dark ball that exploded near the caster, a husky, and made him fall from the tree he was hiding in. Looking at his brown cloak and the markings on it, it was clear he got caught in an ambush from the Watchers. "There's a reward on your head, Caldin. Dead or alive..." said a mocking voice coming from behind him. A second Watcher, a bulldog, made his way to the main path, holding a light-imbued sword and a buckler. "And the prize will be for both of us today!" he yelled, charging Miko. The fox conjured his weapon, imbued with dark magic, and blocked the sword of the dog. Taking advantage of his momentum, he grabbed his neck, pulled him and threw him down. Before the husky had the time to gather his spirit, he cleanly hit the back of the bulldog's head, breaking his skull and sending him to Célèste. When the last Watcher understood what happened, he used another ray to hit Miko on his left shoulder. "You should have stayed home..." Miko ground his teeth, and casted a hex on his opponent to blind him. Which worked, as the husky started panicking. Nonetheless, Miko decided not to spare him. "May the merciless embrace of dark take thee...Shadow Servant!" A black mist slowly raised around the Watcher, and when it got to his shoulder's height, three ghostly figures raised their arms and collapsed on him. His cry echoed far in the forest, but his body got reduced to ashes.

The Watcher implied they were only two of them. However, the aura of one last body was still here. Miko lowered his weapon and took a gentle voice. "I know you're still here... get out. I won't harm you if you mean no threat to me."

Jerry had been camping nearby as a rest on his trip to Lourdes, the Grey Foxtaur had of course, been nodding in and out of consciousness for the past hour, occasionally propping himself up awkwardly with the handle length of his weapon of choice - a Polearm. (This One)

He didn’t wear clothing save for a cover to well, cover what was important to males in this day and age. Albeit, his ears did perk up slightly as he heard the commotion, then of course, fighting and screaming. The heck was honestly going on now? First the mess back in the Capital, now this? This was becoming very, very irritating and tiresome for the Foxtaur…

Of course, he did hear someone speak ‘I know you’re still out here…’ and the rest of course, he couldn’t make out, but needless to say, he wasn’t about to let something stupid like this get between him and resting properly after being awake for two days straight. This was ridiculous and annoying to him, and it only made it worse that he could SMELL the fact that they were Watchers on top of it all.

“Might as well go shut them up…” he mumbled softly, slowly raising to his feet with a soft grumble, holding himself up with the aide of the polearm for the moment, getting some consciousness about himself and mustering up the strength to move forward, he knew he was a Fox, not a Feline, or a Canine, or even an Anthro for that matter… his kind of course had a thing going for them, strong workers, strong minded, and savage and brutal fighters when they wanted to be… as they always said in some of the smaller villages - NEVER make a Foxtaur angry at you, or you will not be leaving unscathed. He’d proven this a couple times himself by just outright mauling and beating someone into the ground despite being an adept magic user, physically strong, and armed with a magical sword… needless to say, that poor Shepherd never dare doubt the fact he was strong.

Of course, three minutes into his walk, he was now on the edge of their frantic searching, Polearm balanced on his left shoulder with one hand in a lazy manner, idly tapping his fingers against the weapon handle as he waited for the lot of them to notice, after all, who wouldn’t notice someone that was 6’11”, a Taur, a Grey Fox, and was in the method of annoyed body language as he was.

(This is what a Foxtaur is, only difference between the example Image and Jerry is that instead of being Green, he’s well… marked up like a common Grey Fox, with Hazel-Blue eyes with swirls of Yellow toward the center of them, bright and lively usually, as well as his weapon for the most part.)

(And at the moment, of course, his body language is like “ woke me up with all your damned racket, you’d better have a good explanation for this…” and of course, I’d imagine that these Watchers are indeed the kind of folk that aren’t going to care if they attack an innocent person or not… of course, the moment they try, they’ll probably learn NUMBERS DON’T MATTER when it comes to the Taur there! Your post and turn! Mwahahaa!)

(And of course, some music for myself whenever things begin to turn a touch violent... if they are stupid enough to do as such~)
