"I'm not to sure who they were. But I have the feeling they weren't friendly." Ivelese said as she cracked the reins again, she was speeding the coach up in order to make it over the tracks ahead before the steam train passed, she cracked the reins again, the stagecoach neared the track crossing "Hold on back there!" Ivelese yelled as the horses ran over the iron tracks and the stage coach bounced over creaking and rattlng, she looked back at the steam train that had nearly nailed the coach. "That train'll hold back whoever was following us for a while!" after a few miles Ivelese saw the sign that crudely read 'BlackWater 25mi'

Blackwater was a turn of the century boomtown, most famous for being the only town within 1000 miles to feature Cobblestone streets, brick buildings, and paved sidewalks. Also home to a few of the very hard to obtain "Horseless" Carriges" as they were called, apparently they were able to move just like a StageCoach would, but without the power of horses, all-in-all they were quite impresssive.

Ivelese rode straight though BlackWater, the horses' hooves noisily clattering against the cobblestone. The Coach left the Blackwater city limits and a few miles later, entered a ranch. Ivelese parked the coach in the large wooden barn and closed the doors, then set the horse loose to run around the corral, she opened the door on the coach "We are here. Come one hop out of there we can go over to my house and get you some new clothes and maybe something to eat, you look hungry." Ivelese said hospitably

Katheryn sighed and nods, "Yeah..." she climbed down and groaned at her hand, "Gah...my hand really hurts..." she gripped it tightly. She hadn't forgotten about the poster, she grabbed it and gave it another look, "...Who's Dead Draw Kate?..." she asked flatly. "Why does she look exactly like me?..." she held the wanted poster up. Katheryn really wanted some answers.

"I'd really love to help you but I don't know anything about outlaws. As you can see from my ranch, I'm a rancher." Ivelese said, leaning against the side of the coach.

Kyle had veered his horse off to one side as the bullets flew, sparing his horse. Jack, however, went sprawling from his. Muttering an incomprehensible line of swear words. Kyle set off in pursuit. Unfortunately, he eyed the steam train, as it approached. Their was no way he could make it. Or was there?

Acting on impulse, he set off in a diagonally path, as the steam train almost hit the stagecoach. He drew his horse up to the side, before jumping off, landing on the first car, but almost crumpling down immediately. His ribs were hurt bad, but he could still run. Moving toward the front of the train, he approached the conductor. Pulling out his revolver, he aimed it at his head. "Pull the brakes, or I'll drop you where you stand and do it myself.

The conductor looked behind him , wide-eyed. "Look, I don't have any interest in your passengers or there possessions. I just got shot at, and you're in the way of a pursuit.

The conductor looked down the barrel of the gun, before nodding, and pulling the brakes. The train began its slow halting. By the time it stopped enough for him to jump down safely, the stagecoach was already well away.

"Kyle!" Jack yelled from his spot. Kyle looked back. "Catch up to me whenever you can! I'm chasing on foot."

Kyle began the journey back, giving a sharp whistle. His horse would get back to him as soon as it could, though he might as well gain some distance.

Thinking about it, he may have gained more ground if he just waited, or went around the opposite way it was going.

"I've really got to think these plans through." He grumbled as he began his journey.

Katheryn sighed and sat down, still putting pressure on her hand. "I'm just so confused..." she shook her head, wiping the whelping tears before they can roll down her face. It's not everyday you escape death by the skin of your fur.

Deputy Rodney walks into the sheriff station alone. He turns around and nearly jumps out of his skin as he sees Sheriff Thomas sitting in his chair. He was looking into a mirror, stitching the side of his face up. "Wh- wh- where the hell were you Sher'ff?!" Rodney studdered! Thomas grunted and winced as he poke the needle through his skin again, "Hot damn Rodney, I got shot in the face, I didn't get my head blown plum off, calm down..." he scolded. Rodney nodded and debriefed his boss, "Right... well we took the house down, there ain't no way that, that outlaw got out o' there alive..." Thomas growled, "Ain't no way? Or ain't very likely?" he seemed a little upset. Rodney stuttered on, "U-...uh w- well... The house came down Sher'ff... But I guess... I guess their be a... a slim chance that she got out alive...".

Sheriff Thomas pulled the thread and cut the string, tying it off. He stood up, about a foot taller than Rodney, "Now you listen here. You find that gal, and make SURE that she's dead! Ya' hear?!" The cat seemed more than a little offended, "Don't take that tone with me now boss. We blew the place up jus' like you told, don't get pissy jus' 'cause there's a slim chance that she's alive." Thomas was shouting at this point, "I want to make sure that we're rid of this pestilence for good!" The deputy scoffed and rolled his eyes, "Fine, I'll give our resident bounty hunter a nice ring, 'cause I'm about sick of this. I just wanna go home and sit down with the wife and kids for a bit, ya' hear?" and with that, he grabbed his hat and left the office.

As Rodney left, Thomas pulled out a few papers, several of them with the name and picture of Katheryn Jane Follett. One particular paper had something like a flow chart on it. The old fox grimaced and growled to himself, punching the desk, "She had better be dead..."

"I'm sure we'll figure it out soon." Ivelese said as she led Katheryn out of the Barn and across the path onto the house's wraparound porch, she unlocked the door and pushed it open stepping out of the rain that was just beginning to fall, she walked into the living room and lit a fire in the fireplace, then sat down on the couch, tired. She looked around her house, admiring how well it looked, considering she had built it herself.

********
The house was a large flat wooden house, the walls were made of thick logs, nothing short of a steam-train could get through the walls. There was one large main floor and a small attic, the main floor was comprised of a dining room, a living room, a kitchen, and three bedrooms. The living room had two small cushioned chairs and a large couch a small wooden coffee table, a large wagon wheel chandelier, and the huge stone fireplace. The dining room and a long table and a few simple chairs around it. Ivelese's bedroom had a large bed with expensive covers on it, as well as a large oak armoire. The other two bedrooms had twin beds in them and an end-table with a lantern.
the kitchen had inside what most kitchens in the current time had. The Attic had simple crates in it as well as a small lantern for sight.

Katheryn smiles, "Thank you..." She takes the silver plated Magnum and placed in on the table, it was out of ammo, so no use carrying it around the whole time. Taking the wanted poster, she also places it onto the table, but looks down at her blood stained dress. She glances back to Ivelese, "Erm... do you have anything I can change into?..." she asks softly. Something was off about the little fox however, she has a slight glint in her eye...

"Uh yea down the hallway over there it's the only door on the left, you could get something out of my armoire. I think you'd wear the same size clothes as me." Ivelese said, she didn't notice the glint in Katheryn's eye, mostly due to how tired she was.

Katheryn nodded and walked into the room. After several minutes of picking through outfits, she returned with a pair of slacks and knee high boots, with a brown and white blouse. "Hmm...It feels comfortable. Do you have anymore ammunition for that gun?" she said, pointing to the Silver plated Magnum. Sitting down, she glances around the home, "It's a very nice place you have here..."

Kyle had managed to track the two down. He had managed to get his horse back, and Jack was just in sight, though still far off. With a sigh, he dismounted his horse, as he approached the ranch. He harbored no anger, as he knew that they were just trying to get away. He should have thought about that as well.

Then again, Kyle never thought things through.

"Hey! Anybody here?" he shouted.

“This high mess better not be on your shoulders, or I swear to the lord all mighty I will send you crawling back to the backwater farm of yours again” nag Rodney to the young cat who was standing in one of the corners of the office, listening in silence as his two superior officers yelled at each other.
“Sir I swear” responded in a slow shy voice the young cat, “I planted the explosives as you instructed, as I saw as you, the smoke and fire come out of the rubles. There ain’t no way, no how, that a soul walk out of that hell with their fur without a scar”

A disgruntle smile cover the Deputy’s face. Putting the ink to work, he continue with his work
“Never the less… it will me my tail in a pole if no proof is found when the sun goes down. I want you to check the ruble and find anything that we miss from that site”

A quick nod and a nervous Sir was the only response from the young cadet. As quickly as he could, he grab he's hat and his belt, armed with the small gun and knife he was granted as he join the office, and ran out the door, but not before the scream of the Deputy made him quicken his passed : “And you better grow wing boy!!!! Cause if the Sheriff comes back demanding another explanation, it will be your lucky paws he’ll be taking home, and we all know how unlucky those are!!!”

As fast as he could, he ran to the sight, and started to trace any clue he could find. The rain had started recently, and the shambles and pieces where not making any easier the process, but the smirk on the old Deputy made his paws work as fast as he could.
“Why is it always me?” Complain the cat as he pushed a boulder out of a ruble. “Carry this… deliver that… take this here!!!”
He sat in the same boulder he pushed and contemplate the disaster. “Why do I care of a dead fox? How can anything survive what the rocks and wood crumble and shatter?”
He's eyes flew from one point to another, bored and angry at the rain, until they stop at an odd sight. From the site, there was a hole that follow a line, going out like a tinny road, straight into a tunnel in the ground.
“What in…” Wiping he's eyes from the rain, he stood up and try to confirm this strange discovery. Truthfully there was a ditch in a straight line going out, in rumbles and collapsed on its own into the ground, finishing in a small tunnel.
As he inspected the hole, he carefully went into was left of the hole and follow it a small trail just behind some rocks outside of the property.
“Well I’ll be!” Said the young cat hitting a rock with his fist “This here ditch could be the clue the Deputy needs, I’ll better run back with…” but before he could finish he's speech, he smell something odd coming from his face. As we wipe it off, blood was covering his hand and chin.
“Aaaahhh!” He scream in surprise as he try to wipe it off in his trousers. But as he did, he's sight saw a red trail growing out of the tunnel and into the road. –Why did it had to be blood?- Thought the young cat –Wait!, I better follow as the rain might make quick work of it! –
Trying desperately to wipe the red of his hands and face, he follow the trace until it banish next to some tracks. As he stopped, he knew he will have to make haste or the marks will also disappear.
It took him over 2 hours of running as the rain progressively increase for the cat to ran out of the city when he finally gave up.
“Where in tarnation are these god forsaken tracks going too!!” Yelled at the sky, fists in the air.
“Am I supposed to follow a train or a phantom? There's nothing here… nothing at all. Where can these cursed marks be…” he's eyes follow the road ahead, and could only spot a faraway ranch in the mist of the rain.
“I’ll better just ask for help, or warm food” Said running with he's remaining strength as he approach the house “take me back home or lock me up, but I aint running back at the station in this weather without a proper meal and some well-deserved rest first”

As he finally approach the house, the noise of horses and shouts from closely outside made him stop dead on his tracks. As he watched closely, he spotted what look like an outlaw and a business man outside of the ranch, drench in water but in high spirits, smiling maliciously at the house.
"Hey! Anybody here?" one of them shouted. No response came from the house.
Quickly hiding at a safe distance, he pouted at the sight – What now? – he thought. The two gentleman where heavily armed, but didn’t seem to incline to use them again the occupants of the ranch.
– Collectors? Harrasers? Why is it that they always go for the small farms!? - An experience he was all too familiar and resented about.
“Not this time they won’t” Whisper the young cat as he drew his small gun and loaded behind the boulder that protected him. Although far away, and shooting now been his biggest asset, the two of them standing so close to the porch barely had any cover or time.
Shooting a warning shoot to the air, he raise the voice as loud as he could above the rain
“Stop right there outlaws! Drop your weapons and place those paws in the air! This here is the… Black… waiter… BLACKWATER deputy!!”
