Choas, UNLEASHED [PM to join]

Post by Kael »

Setting: Post-Apocalyptic wasteland. Countries and government no longer exists. Radiation highly evident, along with mutations. Magic has re-entered the world, coming naturally to some, impossible to others. The gods have also returned, giving divine aid to their highest devotees. Psionics are also unlocked, and thought to be a mutation.

Tech is there, but Guns and Electronics are used sparingly, as electricity and ammunition is hard to come by. Medieval weaponry has become evident, but Kevlar vests are used as well. Bows and arrows are normally preferred long-range weapons. Survivors are gathered in small colonies. You are part of one group, and this is a survival RP in a wasteland, with low supply of food.

I myself am using Vanasethari, an old manticore with telepathy, telekinesis, and has visions at times, but is blind. Also will use Marygoulde, a [for this RP] mutated weasel, who produces little kinetic energy of his own, but can absorb what he needs from other sources. Vanasethari will most likely be leader, unless someone else wants it.

Will start when I have a few more interested, just PM me if you want in.

Vanasethari was sitting in the bunker-turned-base, working out new feeding schedules. They had just recently come across a source of food, and needed to mete the food out to last until they could get more. The small farms they had only could get so much. And other furs were a constant threat. Not to mention the feral mutants.

Marygoulde was looking over the group he had assembled for this foray. They were a ragtag lot, but the best of the best that they had. He just hoped nothing would go wrong.

Sakura came running up, red hair flowing behind her, as Marygould looked over the group. "wait....I'm not too late am I?" the dragoness called as she joined the others in front of Marygould. She hefted a heavy wrench over her shoulder, and adjusted her bag. "what are we after this time?" she inquired with a genuine enthusiasm. She enjoyed the forays out of the settlement, cabin fever tended to get to her if she was cooped up for too long. "are we going to have any time to salvage equipment?" she asked, knowing that many of the generators the settlement depended on were not in very good shape, and parts would go a long way...

Goulde nodded to Sakura. "Just getting prepared. We are going after any supplies, but equipment and food are our top priorities." He spread out a basic map of the city. "Ok, here is our plan. We are going to cover the south-east sector of the city. Everyone have their partner?" Partners were pairs who kept tabs on one another, so if one got lost, the other knew. "Sakura, since you just came, you are going to be with me. And keep exposure down to a bare minimum. We are going into feral territory. If you are attacked, try escaping. Fight only if you can't. We don't the entire group of them to find us."

Riath looked over the city plans, deep in thought. The map looked rough, then again so did everything here. He wondered to himself if the map was once used to guid tourists, though with the age and wear it was hard to tell. The locations of the supplies looked as though they would be well guarded and he concluded their supplies were running thinner the group had been led to believe. He glanced at the manticore briefly but then turned back to the issue at hand giving his partner a solid glance and small nod to show he was ready and to reassure them of the task ahead.

Sakura studied the map carefully as Marygoulde talked, trying to commit as much of it as possible to memory. She nodded to confirm that she understood the instructions as she continued to study the map. "do you think we can stop by this industrial sector here on our way?" she asked as she pointed with a claw tip to a section of the map. "we really need to get some more generator parts" she explained as she adjusted her her bag again

[Sorry, KABLE, i get where you came from with your post now...]

"If the path is clear, it will be considered. No guarantees... Not anymore," Van had one of his few moments of speaking up. His voice was weary, but held a resolve in it that was palpable.

Mariegoulde nodded. "Right. We will be in contact, Vanasethari. Everyone have their coms on?" Everyone should have a basic communicator for back-up calling. "Ok, Let's move out!' He waited for the others to leave, then leaned down to Van, whispering, "We will be careful, I know some bad things are happening over in that sector, but we need the food." Van simply nodded, already spreading out his awareness. Goulde moved out of the bunker, following the rest.

Sakura looked up, her attention drawn to the manticore as he spoke. She frowned a bit, but nodded in response. She wondered about Vanesethari, he was the leader of the settlement, but hardly spoke...she wondered what his story was.

She started off with the rest of the group, but stopped after a short distance to wait on Mariegoulde. She fell into step next to the weasel, and followed him as they caught up to the rest of the group. "what was that all about?" she asked curiously as they made their way out into the dangerous surrounding lands...

The city presented darkness. It was the embodiment of a society that Riath never truly appreciated. Many of the buildings were ruined and it would be hard to spot a competent scout, however the snow-leopards eyes scanned every opening, every corner. He knew this would not be an easy trip into the city, the leading powers must be getting desperate. Tension built and he began to wonder if the group would soon pick up the pace, the longer they stayed in the city the higher the chance of an unexpected attack. Silently instructing the fox next to him to retain awareness he moved to Mariegoulde and posed the question "Are you sure this is smart? These 'spare parts' would be useful but I think we should consider the movements of these mutants. they may not be strategic but they are not stupid enough to keep searching the same areas for prey, eventually they are going to move on. This area is safe now, but it won't be forever." Before he got a response he had moved back to his original position and returned to his vigilant state.

Mariegoulde grunted. "Use the comms," he sent over a private link to Riath. He then spoke to Sakura. "I just was getting some last minute information from Vanasethari. Nothing to worry about." In truth, there was everything to worry about. Vast movements had been heard from over there, and strange noises. But the whole place was sitting directly on top of an abandoned CostCo [or Feilan equivalent]. Hopefully, barring any problems, they would come back with a whole lot of food, enough to feed them for at least a month.

Sakura gave Mariegoulde a speculative look, then shrugged "ok...hopefully this will be a quiet trip" she replied though a small part of her hoped for something interesting to happen. She watched their surroundings carefully as the group traveled deeper into dangerous territory. As the group walked, she thought she caught sight of something scurrying between a pair of ruined buildings in her peripheral vision. She swung her head around, trying to catch sight of whatever it was, but saw nothing. She shook her head, and turned her attention back to scanning ahead of her, unsure if it had actually been something or just her imagination playing tricks on her. "did you see anything just now?" she asked Mariegoulde "over there." she said while pointing in the direction she thought she may have seen something...

Eyes swung from side to side and tension built. One, even tentative spotting of external movement was enough to stop the whole group. There was a chance it was a trap or just an enemy of guard but Riath didn't know how much experience any of the group actually possessed, let alone how prone they were to cracking under the pressure of this environment. He moved slowly towards the shadow, quietly. He was hoping to put any potential ambush off by walking into there trap and relying on cover from his unit, he just hoped they understood that was what he was doing. He gestured to them in hope they would not let their guard down, or worse follow him in. He stayed sharp and kept his gun close to his chin as he slowly advanced forward.

Goulde saw the shadow and silently cursed. Then he saw Riath go towards it. He immediately patched to his comm. "Riath, don't you dare go in there alone. You need ack-up." When Riath gestured, Goulde muttered something. He started moving toward him, when a dark shape appeared in front of Riath.

It was a mutant.

The thing was huge. At least 7'8", muscle-bound, drooling. The thing looked like a cross between a crocodile and a Lion. It let out a wolf-like howl, and attempted to rip Riath with it's 5" long claws. It's massive teeth protuded from it's mouth and it's scaled body was rippling with energy.

"crap!" Sakura commented under her breath as she started following Goulde and Raith. Oh great she thought as she saw the mutant we're in for a good one...let's hope it doesn't bring any buddies. She looked around as she followed Goulde. She saw a length of pipe sticking out of the ground and grabbed it; it was a good four inches in diameter, and about seven foot long.

"here comes the fun" she said as she came up next to Goulde and threw the pipe like a javelin at the mutant. As the pipe left her hand, she added a good telekenetic push to it, sending it straight at the mutant's head....

Riath lunged right and turned to see the javelin heading towards the mutant, he drew his sword and jumped again to his feet. He moved back and holding eye contact with the mutant and he raised his weapon higher, seriously hoping the pipe would at least distract his opponent, but it was flying straight enough to be a solid kill. Riath braced for the next move.
